During the 2012 Olympics build up Virgin Atlantic realised that due to the extra arrivals into the country they would need to build a new baggage scanning building to cope with the demand.
The x-ray machines that scan the bags as they come off of the planes produce a large amount of heat which causes the building they are in to become extremely hot.
This project was carried out by our engineers that hold airside passes for Heathrow air port under very strict working restrictions and regulations with a health & safety office watching over them at all times. The equipment that was installed was all specified by the customers consultants, and was not a design of ours, which is a common process with this type of project.
The work was all completed within the time frame that we were given and was used problem free throughout the 2012 Olympics.
